Marketing Coordinator – Email Marketer

Summary: This role is a key team member on the For Marketing Matters team. This position presents the opportunity to work on multiple For Marketing Matters clients. As the FMM Marketing Coordinator focused on building and maintaining the Client Dream List (may be within a CRM solution such as salesforce.com) and email marketing, you will be responsible for coordinating various marketing programs that are critical components of the marketing strategy and marketing plan in place for each client. You will be depended on for thorough, high quality work that is executed on time and with the highest quality thinking and design to drive results. As a marketing coordinator you will have the opportunity to learn and grow as a marketer. Key aspects of this role include planning, best practices, staying current on innovation, techniques and regulations; thinking about design elements, attention to detail and working across the FMM team to ensure any elements related to the email marketing effort are tightly integrated with other team members. As the above visual summarizes, you will be solely responsible for email marketing and related to that ensuring client specials are correctly and accurately presented on the website to generate leads. Results and demonstrating ongoing improvements and refinements are expected in this role

Primary duties:

  • Email marketing – planning, layout (design is largely completed by graphic designer on FMM team), calls to action, testing, results reporting, insight, analysis and continuous improvement
  • Email Marketing and Direct Mail Seed list – develop and maintain for both email and mail
  • Email Marketing List Management (Dream List maintenance)- responsible for pulling and managing email lists and keeping current and compliant with client CRM system as required for effective and efficient email marketing; includes managing with client the handling of do not mail, bounces, competition, etc.
  • Email Marketing – point person for identifying and recommending the best email marketing software to use to effectively and efficiently reach client and prospect audience; staying current on options and software including ongoing training.
  • Consistency between email marketing and website as appropriate.
  • Analysis and reporting
  • Ability to perform some graphic design/Photoshop work but defer to FMM Creative Director and/or graphic designer

Skills/Capabilities:

  • Achieving the goals of the marketing plan via email marketing – email marketing expert in terms of subject lines, techniques, time of day, layout
  • Proven use and understanding of common email marketing programs (e.g., Constant Contact, Pinpointe, Mail Chimp etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., salesforce.com as well as smaller, lesser-known systems) to generate lists, update contacts, keep one source system accurate for email marketing and compliance.
  • Works very efficiently; quick learner; proactive; strategic; resourceful.
  • Expert in using Excel to plan expected results by campaign leveraging industry-specific parameters, analyze and report results.
  • Attention to detail; checking one’s work consistently
  • An eye for design, best practices and bringing ideas to the table
  • Design abilities: Adobe products, InDesign
  • Consistent applications of marketing fundamentals – calls to action, layout techniques, use of color
  • Confidently present to clients and work through full campaign lifecycle from planning through campaign analysis, bounces and opt outs.
